5 Common reasons for returned SIA application forms

5  COMMON   REASONS    FOR   RETURNED    APPLICATIONS

Below are  common  reasons which we see that  will cause  your  SECURITY INDUSTRY AUTHORITY  application  returned without  your  application being processed

1. CANDIDATES   HAVE    NOT   SUBMITTED   ALL THE  REQUIRED  SUPPORTING   DOCUMENTS :-

The  SIA   must  have  your  proof   of  address  and   photographic  identification

This is  now becoming  a standard  requirement  in  many  areas of  modern life, with  your application form  you  will have a  list  of  acceptable  proof  of  identity and  proof of address, often  these will be the very  same  documents  submitted on  your course.

2. SIGNATURE  NOT  WITHIN   THE  BOX  :-

See  I1 of your SIA application form

Your application form is scanned by computer and then the Scanned signature  is  duplicated on  the  SIA license. We see this in the current DVLA photo licence and the latest passports, if  the signature is not within   the  box the scanner will not capture  your signature  and hence  your application will   not  be  processed. A new application form will need to be completed  and your counter signatory  will  also  need   to  record their details   again  in  section   C

3. APPLICATION    NOT   SIGNED   AND  DATED   :-

See  I1 & I2  of  your SIA application form

This  one  is  self-explanatory and it can often happen that  you  over look signing your signature or  you  overlook dating you application. Your  signature is required to indicate that  you  have read  and  understood the conditions of  your application. Be sure to  sign  I1 (see above) and  be  sure  to  date your application (I2)

4.PHOTOGRAPH   NOT SIGNED/DATED BY COUNTER SIGNATORY

Your photography must  be signed and dated  by a your counter signatory and you   must   also write  down your date of birth on  the  back  of  the  photograph.

5. PAYMENT DETAILS  ARE NOT COMPLETED

See  section  H  of  your application form

Often one  part  of  section  H is  not  complete,  where  possible  the SIA will call you  if  the  details  required  are  postcodes or  valid from , expiry dates but in  some cases for example  signatures   your  application will need to be returned. Unless you  already  have a  valid  licence  the  cost  of the  licence is £245.00 (H1)
